Who We Are

Teton Valley Chamber Music Festival is a nonprofit organization created by a group of professional musicians dedicated to sharing their love of music through performance and education. Our mission is to bring chamber music into Teton Valley for the community to enjoy and impart what we have learned through our collective careers to inspiring young musicians.

What is chamber music? Chamber music is a form of classical music, intended to be played in small concert halls or smaller rooms, like palace chambers. The most famous form of chamber music is the string quartet (invented in the 18th century). The music is written for one part per player, most pieces include two to four players and usually no more than ten solo instruments.

What is a Young Artist Program? A Young Artist program is common in the world of opera and instrumental music. They are apprenticeship programs designed to teach the young singers and instrumentalists the important skills needed for their discipline, whether it be as soloists on the operatic or concert stage or as professional players in an orchestra. The instrumentalists study: ensemble, musicianship, technique and artistry. The singers study: acting, diction, movement, musicality, stage direction, how to learn an operatic role and then ultimately, how to put it all together for an effective performance.
